One important thing about the experience these two had was that Moses did not know the name of who he was speaking to from within the burning bush, but Abraham did know god’s name. Moses on the other hand spoke to god though a burning bush and was commanded to lead the people out of Egypt. One Abraham would talk to god in person and walk with god as they talked or even talked over dinner together. The way that Abraham experiences god is different than Moses in couple of ways.
We also talked about what made polytheism so attractive to people. Earlier in the week we watched a video called “A History of God”, and some of the topics we discussed were how Moses and Abraham experience god differently and the reason why we today cannot be religious in the same way as our ancestors.
